Harper rose to fame in the early '70s as Rhoda Morgenstern on "The Mary Tyler Moore Show," a role that not only earned her a successful spin-off series called "Rhoda," but also resulted in?four Emmy Awards and a Golden Globe. She received her diagnosis on Jan. 15 after tests revealed?she has leptomeningeal carcinomatosis, a rare condition that occurs when cancer cells spread into the fluid-filled membrane surrounding the brain.?
?
"I'm well past my expiration date already," she told People magazine, a nod to the lung cancer she previously beat in 2009.?"I've had a good run. What more could I ask for?"
