Queralt Inc. is a recent SBIR winner funded by the Department of Homeland Security. Their very first attempt at applying for an SBIR was in 2009 ? and it was unsuccessful. They got right back on the horse and applied again. This time they won. They wrote their Phase II application in 2010 ? and it too, was awarded. In year 2011, they applied for a Phase II enhancement and won that as well. Recently, they were granted some additional funding from DHS for another research project based on the technology developed in their SBIR projects. Just what are they doing right? Business Incubation activity in Connecticut is on the rise! Business Incubators provide resources and services to business startups with the goal of accelerating their growth and helping them to become self-sustaining.
